Girl shot Monday dies
A 16-year-old girl who was shot in the head Monday outside an apartment complex in Greenbelt died in a hospital Wednesday, authorities said.
Police have yet to make any arrests in the case or say whether they think the girl was targeted. They also have not identified her, citing her age. They said after the shooting that the girl was shot by a male assailant, who then fled.
The incident occurred about 7:45 p.m. Monday in the 5900 block of Cherrywood Lane. The girl was pronounced dead about 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.
