Police identify girl slain in Greenbelt
Police on Monday identified the 16-year-old girl shot and killed late last month in Greenbelt as Jericka Chambers of Landover, and said for the first time that they think her shooting was “not random.”
Chambers was standing outside an apartment complex in the 5900 block of Cherrywood Lane on May 31 when she was shot in the head, police have said. She died the next day.
Police said they are looking for a male teenager who has tattoos and is referred to as “Johnny B.” Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Greenbelt police Criminal Investigations Unit at 240-542-2133.
