Woman killed in Woodbridge

By Allison Klein and Jennifer Buske

Update, 3:20 p.m.:

Prince William County police have identified the victim of Thursday morning's shooting outside of a Woodbridge Chick-Fil-A as 48-year-old Alice Jenkins Everette of the 17900 block of Swans Creek Lane in Dumfries. Police have charged her husband, Daniel Lunie Everette, 52 of 9149 Broken Oak Place in Burke with murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He is being held without bond and no court date has been set.

Update, 10:25 a.m.:
Police have someone in custody in connection with the Woodbridge shooting and confirm it was a domestic-related crime. The suspect turned himself in at a police station in Woodbridge shortly after the shooting. Police have not yet released his name.

Prince William Police spokesman Jonathan Perok said that when police arrived shortly before 9 a.m., the victim already was dead in her car. "Multiple" shots were fired, he said.

The restaurant was open at the time and no other injuries reported.

Update, 10:15 a.m.:
The woman killed at the Chick-fil-A was in her car in the parking lot when she was shot. Police describe her as an adult, likely in her 30s. Officers are searching for the gunman and investigating whether it stemmed from a domestic incident. Detectives say there was an eyewitness to the shooting.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. --
A woman was shot dead in the parking lot at the Woodbridge Chick-Fil-A on Prince William Parkway this morning and police are looking for the shooter.

Police say the woman was shot in the parking lot about 8:45 a.m.

More than a dozen police officers are surrounding the Chick-Fil-A and a helicopter was hovering overhead.

At least two cars in the parking lot had what appeared to bullet holes.

Police said it appeared the victim was about to go through the drive-through when she was shot. Her car struck another in the parking lot but that car wasn't involved, police said.

Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said officers believe the killing is an isolated incident.

Mr. Everette loved Alice so much, he asked for her hand in marriage. February 17, 2011 he shoots and kills the same lady. Why couldn't he just walk away? Now all he has in his future is lock down.
