Felony charges after crash, outage
An Ashburn neighborhood lost power shortly after midnight Friday when a driver crashed his vehicle into a power box near Fling Court, according to the Loudoun County sheriff's office.
The driver, who did not sustain serious injuries, fled the scene on foot but was later located by sheriff's deputies, according to Kraig Troxell, sheriff's spokesman.
The driver was charged with felony hit and run and DUI.
Power was restored to the affected homes within an hour and a half, police said.
