Loudoun cops seek armed robber

Update, 4 p.m.:

The suspect who robbed a Subway restaurant in Ashburn on Friday is described as a black male in his early to mid 20s, about 6-feet tall, with a thin build and short, cropped hair, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. He was last seen wearing a baggy white T-shirt and dark blue pants, police said. The suspect entered the store around 11 a.m., displayed a firearm, and demanded cash before fleeing on foot.

A ground and aerial search of the area was conducted by members of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, K9 Unit and the Fairfax County Police Department helicopter, police said. No suspect was found.

Loudoun County sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who robbed a Subway restaurant at gunpoint Friday morning in the Broadlands Center Plaza in Ashburn.

The robbery occurred about 11 a.m., when the suspect entered the store and demanded cash, police said. No one was hurt, said Kraig Troxell, spokesman for the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect is described as a tall black male, about 6 feet tall, wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants, He fled the area and was last seen around 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Claiborne Parkway and Waxpool Road, police said. Investigators with the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office continue to canvass the area, Troxell said.
