Police search for attacker's SUV
Police in Virginia and Michigan say finding one particular dark-green SUV may be the key to catching an attacker authorities think is targeting African-Americans.
Authorities said the man they think is responsible for at least 18 assaults in the Flint area of Michigan and Leesburg, Va., has been spotted driving a dark green SUV with tan or gold paneling.
Leesburg police, who said the vehicle's image was capured on surveillance video, described it as a Chevrolet Blazer and said it has two grapefruit-sized dents in the hood.
Michigan police said they think one man, who is white, killed five men and wounded 10 others in the Flint area since May. Authorities think the same man may be responsible for three random attacks in Leesburg this month, and a Saturday assault in Toledo. The Virginia and Ohio victims survived.
Anyone with information about the attacks or the SUV is asked to call Leesburg Police at 703-771-4500. Callers who want to remain anonymous can call 703-443-TIPS.
