Police seek culprits in holiday light cord-cutting
Loudoun County authorities are searching for a grinch, or maybe two.
On Thursday evening, a family on Frost Court in Ashburn noticed that someone had cut an extension cord that connected to their outdoor holiday light display.
The same evening, it was discovered that someone clipped a set of holiday lights at a house on Laceyville Terrace, also in Ashburn.
Loudoun Sheriff's spokesman Kraig Troxell said it's unclear whether the same perpetrator could be to blame, partly because the homes aren't in the same neighborhhood.
Authorities say it's not in the spirit of the season, and it's also destruction of property.
