Va. man charged with abducting ex

A Manassas City man was arrested Tuesday evening and charged with kidnapping his ex-girlfriend on two occasions, taking her to his townhouse and locking her inside for several hours before she escaped, Manassas City police said Wednesday.

A 22-year-old woman told police on Monday that she was walking to work on Sudley Road when her ex-boyfriend forced her into his car, then drove her to his home in the 9100 block of Kershaw Court.

She told police she was assaulted and locked in the townhouse for several hours, and that the same thing had happened several weeks earlier, Sgt. Tim Neumann said.

On Tuesday evening, a task force of officers from Manassas City, Manassas Park and Prince William County raided the townhouse and arrested Jonathan Thomas, 27.

Inside, police found an assault rifle, several pounds of marijuana and some cash, Neumann said.

Thomas was taken to the Prince William jail, charged with two counts of abduction, and ordered held without bond, police said.

And the lesson here is that when you are going to kidnap your ex-girlfriend, make sure you empty the "assault rifle and several pounds of marijuana" from your car first!
