Sheriff: Residents shouldn't be alarmed by explosions
Those explosions you hear are nothing to worry about.
Some residents of Loudoun's Dulles South area have been concerned after hearing loud bangs, prompting sheriff's officials to reassure them there is no cause for alarm.
Sheriff's officials traced the noises to explosives training at the Quantico Marine Base. Because of the cold, cloudy weather, the sounds can be heard farther from the base than it typically has been in past training exercises, officials said.
The training is scheduled to continue throughout this week from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

America's worship at the altar of militarism is pathologic.
What's the military done for us this century? Bravely kept the dastardly Canadians from invading? Brought freedom and democracy to the Third World? Pro-actively "fought them over there so we don't have to fight them over here?" Yeah, right.
Yeah, military training is nonsense. Because our gigantic bloated military is nonsense.

We can hear this nonsense all the way up in Fort Washington.
