Infant's death in Leesburg home day care investigated
Leesburg Police are investigating the Monday death of a 7-month old girl at a home day care center in the 600 block of Radford Terrace NE, police spokesman Capt. Clagett Moxley said.
A ruling on the cause of death from Virginia's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is pending, said Moxley, who said the infant had "some medical history."
There were five other children the in daycare at the time, he said. Investigators are also reviewing the daycare provider's licensing status.
Fire and rescue crews were called to the home for a report of cardiac arrest shortly before 3 p.m. Monday and found the child not breathing and being administered CPR, Moxley said.
She was pronounced dead after being taken to the emergency room of Loudoun Inova Hospital.
