Woman struck, killed by dump truck in Leesburg

(UPDATED 8:58 p.m.)
A woman who had pulled her car to the gravel shoulder of the Route 7 bypass was struck and killed by a passing dump truck Thursday morning after she exited her car, Leesburg police said. The woman has been identified as Martha Johnson, 45, of Leesburg.

Police do not yet know why Johnson left her vehicle or where she was standing at the edge of the four-lane road when she was hit at about 9:20 a.m., said police spokesman Chris Jones.

The accident occurred near a bend in the eastbound lane of the bypass between West Market and South King streets.

The truck driver notified police about the accident, Jones said.

How is this a crime issue? Between this and the poorly worded headline frome earlier that implied that a guy had committed a carjacking while in jail, the editorial standards appear to be getting a bit lax.

@klaw009x

"frome?" You should probably check your own spelling and grammatical errors, before you start complaining.
