Funeral set for abducted Md. girl

Funeral plans for an 11-year-old Maryland girl who allegedly was abducted by a registered sex offender have been set.

The funeral for Sarah Haley Foxwell of Salisbury will held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Salisbury. Officials with Holloway Funeral home have said anonymous donors have offered to pay for the funeral.

Foxwell was abducted from her home Tuesday night. Her body was found on Christmas Day near the Delaware-Maryland border after a massive search that included more than 3,000 volunteers.

Thirty-year-old Thomas Leggs Jr. of Salisbury has been charged with kidnapping and burglary in the girl's disappearance.

Leggs has been ordered held without bond. Following a bond hearing Monday, he was returned to the Wicomico County Detention Center.

A preliminary court hearing on charges of kidnapping and burglary is set for Jan. 21. Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis said Leggs also will face additional charges.

hopefully the inmates at the detention center where this pond scum is being held will be able to get to him and dispense justice, thereby saving the taxpayers the huge expense of this trial. don't understand how anyone can rail against capital punishment, and think the "sanctity" of this worm's life exists, let alone should be protected. The reason this goes on so much is because we don't execute this scum like we should. kill him and do it soon. no punishment is too severe for scumturds who think little girls are disposable toys for their amusement. i'd pay big money to have ten minutes alone in this scumbag's cell.

Keep in mind Martin O'Malley and the Democrats in the Legislature made it nigh impossible for Sarah's killer to get the death penalty. I don't forget.

I can't imagine the agony that sweet little girls family must be going through. There isn't any punishment bad enough for that animal that killed her

Deepest condolences to this precious child's parents, family, friends, loved ones.

After all these decades of knowing absolutely that rapists/pedophiles/sex criminals WILL repeat and continue to offend, you have to ask why the state legislatures -- dominated by white males then and now -- have determined to keep letting these worthless, violent, scumbag predators out of prison?

They'll happily invade the relationship between a woman and her doctor, force compulsory pregnancy, prevent adult same-sex relationships, condemn non-violent drug users to life in prison while stubbornly protecting sex predators who go after both women and children.

Why are they still knowingly protecting these guys (99.95% are male) after all these years/decades? What does it say about these legislators and their priorities and hidden motives?

They sure don't have the interests of women, children and families at the top, that's proven by the crime committed here.

I don't think you can ever let these guys out of prison. They don't get better. It's always a part of them. Castration should probably be mandatory. He murdered her parents when he killed her.
