Man robs Bethesda bank
Montgomery County police are investigating a bank robbery that took place on Bethesda's busy Wisconsin Avenue on Friday afternoon.
Police say a man entered the M&T branch at 7700 Wisconsin Ave. about 2:05 p.m., showed a teller a handgun, demanded money and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot through the shopping plaza at the rear of the bank. No one was injured.
The suspect is described as black, 27 to 30 years old, approximately 5 foot 7 to 5 foot 9, with a medium build. He had a mustache and facial hair, and wore a black baseball cap with a white logo, a dark-colored coat, black jeans and black gloves.
Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call 240-773-5100. Those who wish to remain anonymous should call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll free at 866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment.
