Worcester County, Md., got its first new sheriff in 12 years with the swearing in of Reggie Mason.
Mason, who was elected in November when Charles Martin didn't run for re-election, was sworn in this week.
Mason, a Republican, is a 28-year sheriff's office veteran, most recently serving as chief deputy.
He vowed to work to make the county safe.
