Police did not immediately released the suspect's name. They said they will "announce an arrest" Friday in the slaying of 30-year-old Alejandro Marcos Diaz Vasquez, of Langley Park.
Vasquez was found fatally stabbed in the 1400 block of University Blvd East on January 8.
