Ronald Xavier Butler, 41, was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and a weapon violation in connection with the slaying of William Arthur Chase, 51, also of Waldorf, police said.
Chase and Butler were watching football together at Butler’s trailer in the in the 9900 block of Bunker Hill Road when, for an unknown reason, Butler asked Chase to leave, police said.
The two men began arguing, and Butler got a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Chase, police said.
The two fought after Butler told Chase it was time to leave and Chase refused, police said.
Another relative in the house called authorities just before 7:30 p.m. Chase was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died. Butler remained on the scene of the stabbing and was taken into police custody when officers arrived.
