District Heights man killed in crash

A District Heights man was killed early Monday morning after his car veered off Suitland Road in the Suitland area of Prince George’s County and struck a pole, police said.
Vander Williams III, 25, was traveling east in the 4500 block of Suitland Road when his car left the roadway and struck a pole, police said. Williams, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
Police said speed was believed to be a factor in the crash, which occurred just after 1 a.m.
