Man dies in Pr. William after stabbing, crash

A 31-year-old Woodbridge man died early Thursday morning after he was stabbed during a fight and crashed his vehicle in Dale City while he was driving away from the scene, police in Prince William County said in a news release.
About 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the 3500 block of Forestdale Avenue in Dale City to investigate a crash, authorities said. Witnesses told them that some in the vehicle were leaving the scene, and officers found the driver of the car unconscious inside. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
The passengers of his vehicle, man, woman and a 2-year-old girl, were found walking nearby, police said.
Detectives would later learn that sometime before the crash, the stabbing victim was involved in an argument that turned into a fight. After he was stabbed, police said, he and his passengers drove away. He eventually collapsed and crashed into three parked vehicles on Forestdale Avenue, police said.
Police believe the stab wounds, not the crash, killed the man; the passengers, they said, were not hurt.
It remains unclear why the man got into a fight and was stabbed.
Police said the stabbing suspect, a man they have not identified, did not know the victim.
