Police ID Oxon Hill shooting victim
Police have identified the man fatally shot in Oxon Hill Monday night as 27-year-old Darian Michael Hinton of Suitland, authorities said.
Police were initially called to the 5100 block of Deal Drive in Oxon Hill at about 11:35 p.m. for a report of an unresponsive person in the street, authorities said.
Officers arrived and found Hinton wounded on the scene. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died, authorities said.
Cpl. Henry Tippett, a Prince George's County police spokesman, said investigators determined the shooting actually occurred nearby in the 900 block of Kennebec Street and the man stumbled a short distance before collapsing. Police have no suspects or motive in the slaying, Tippett said.
The slaying was the third in just two days in Prince George's, and the 19th so far this year.
