Pr. George's police: Death a homicide

Police are investigating the case of a 42-year-old man who was found dead last week inside a vacant home in Forestville as a homicide, authorities said Tuesday.
Just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday, police were called to a vacant home in the 7400 block of Marlboro Pike to check on the occupant's welfare,, authorities said. They arrived to find John Leonard Lawhorn Jr., whose last known address was in Clinton, dead on the scene, authorities said.
Police said in a news release that Lawhorn had some sort of trauma to the body, but they declined to be more specific. Detectives do not know who killed him, or why he was killed.
