Man, 22, shot dead in Landover
Prince George’s County homicide detectives are investigating the second slaying in less than two weeks on Dodge Park Road in the Landover area, authorities said.
The most recent incident occurred just before midnight Sunday.
Officers called to the 3400 block of Dodge Park Road found a man lying in a parking lot near an apartment building suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.
The man, identified as Pierre Antawn Medley, 22, of the 7300 block of Goodland Drive in Landover, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.
The circumstances were similar on Sept. 18, when officers were called to the same block just before 4 a.m. for the report of gunfire.
They arrived to find Donald Reeves, 22, of the 7300 block of Shady Glen Terrace in Capitol Heights, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Cpl. Larry Johnson, a Prince George’s County police spokesman, said detectives are still searching for suspects and a motive in the most recent case. He said he did not know if it was related to the Sept. 18 shooting. Police have not announced any arrests in that slaying.
