Woman killed, two hurt in Suitland crash

By Matt Zapotosky

A feud inside a moving car sparked a crash early Monday morning in the Suitland area of Prince George's County that killed one woman and sent two others to the hospital, police said.

The car, a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am, was traveling east in the 6700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at about 2 a.m. when it veered off the roadway and struck an embankment, said Cpl. Erica Johnson, a Prince George's County Police spokeswoman.

Johnson said one of the passengers grabbed the steering wheel during an altercation inside the car, causing the driver to lose control.

All three women inside the car were taken to the hospital, and one, a passenger, later died. Police identified her as 24-year-old Natae Kasey. Kasey was not the passenger who grabbed the steering wheel, police said.

The driver and the other passenger are expected to survive, police said.

Sounds like a manslaughter charge should be forthcoming.

Wow what a terrible story. What could people possibly be arguing over that makes grabbing the steering wheel seem like a good idea?

Lets be real ppl...none of us were there...and one person is deceased (may GOd rest her soul)...one is fighting for her life...and the other walked away unharmed and/or with minor injuries...only one side of the story was told right...with that said stop judging when u were not one of the three ladies who were involved to know the complete story or if the story uve heard is the true story...keep all negativity to yourselves cause u dont know!

my heart goes out to all parties invovled and there families!

I heard that the driver was drinking and speeding and if this is true why havent anyone been charged with this crime????? I also heard that she was not drinking and driving and a passenger grabb the steering wheel I know this is a sad situation and my heart goes out to all parties involved. But one thing for certain and two for sure if she was drinking the police would have charged her already so she couldve been drinking.

People are a trip---telling folks not too judge-----please be realistic......A LIFE WAS LOST-----it doesn't matter the sides of the situation----if someone was negligent then they should be charged----accidents happen all the time---but this is reported as more-----Much Prayers goes out to this young lady and her loved ones----and also to any other victims in this incident. Stop the Rumors as well----not cool.

the thing is as previously stated at the time when the story was given one person was dead and the other uncocious so whos to say that the account of the incident had any factbased validity in the first place. My friend my family died bottom line tryn to prevent 2 dumb ass people from fighting thats what was not reported. i personally feel that police dropped the ball on this one and came to conclusions tooo early based on one persons account. it has been stated that the driver doesn't drink but yet her facebook page which is now private clearly stated on more that one status that i am fried and i am wasted! it has been reported by nuetral parties that both the driver and front passenger were spotted drinking. the behavior inside the night club is a clear indication that it is more than possible that the driver was drunk! while the whole incident is a cryn shame my heart only bleeds for the one that passed, Natae!!! who was a daughter, sister, friend, cuzin god-mother to alot of people. anybody that knew her knew she hated drama and would do anything to prevent it from happening and thats why she lost her life looking out for others and forgetting about self. but thats just who she was!!! now that the police have realized that they prmaturely concluded this case based on the account of one person hopefully they will do the right thing and prosecute any and all parties at fault to the fullest extent of the law giving Natae's loved ones some closure!!!
