SUV passenger killed in Montgomery Escalade wreck

A passenger in an SUV died in a Montgomery County wreck Tuesday, according to a press release from the Montgomery County police.

According to accident investigators, a 2007 Cadillac Escalade was traveling south on the 21500 block of Georgia Avenue near New Hampshire Avenue about 5:25 p.m. Tuesday when it left the right side of the road and hit a tree for unknown reasons.

Jose Roberto Rubi Argueta, 33, of Buford, Ga., who was seated in the left-rear passenger seat, was hurt badly. He died a short time later at Montgomery General Hospital. Police did not say if he was wearing a seat belt.

The driver, Olga E. Guevara, 42, of the 11900 block of Lafayette Drive in Silver Spring, and a front-seat passenger, Rodolfo Jose Martinez Barahona, 30, of the same address, were taken to Suburban Hospital in serious condition. They are expected to survive.

Investigators ask anyone with information about the wreck to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 301-840-2435.

Georgia and NH Aves intersect at Petworth Metro in DC. Was this accident in Petworth or somewhere in MD? Need to get your facts straight.

Its hard to feel bad because they were driving an SUV, which pretty much makes them bad people already.

Not that it matters (other than the expense of taking care of these people on the tax payers dole) but are they citizens, visitors or illegals?

The incident took place in the area of the 21500 block of Georgia Ave., which intersects with New Hampshire Ave. in the area of Brookeville, Md., north of Olney. I've added the block information to the original post to clarify. -- David P. Marino-Nachison, Editor
