Md. man dies in motorcycle crash
A Germantown motorcyclist was killed early Sunday when he apparently lost control of his bike on Middlebrook Road, struck a curb and drove up onto a sidewalk, then fell off the motorcycle and struck a utility pole, police said.
Montgomery County police said officers saw a motorcyclist exit the Germantown Commons Shopping Center about 1:45 a.m. at high speed. The motorcycle was last seen southbound on Middlebrook Road. Officers followed in an attempt to stop the rider, police said, but came upon him and the motorcycle a short distance away, near Germantown Road.
Police said the motorcyclist, identified as Joshua C. Warden, 27, of the 19200 block of Liberty Mill Road was unresponsive at the scene. Fire and rescue personnel who responded to the crash determined that he was dead.
Police said the white and blue 2006 GSX/R 600 Suzuki motorcycle did not have a registration. Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit ask that anyone who witnessed the crash contact them at 301-840-2435.
