Man sought after assaulting woman, eluding officers, police say
Montgomery County police are seeking a 29-year-old man in connection with an assault Wednesday night inside a Silver Spring residence.
A police spokesman initially said the same man was rescued when it appeared he was about to jump from a bridge over Interstate 370 on Tuesday. That now appears not to be the case.
Shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Ruatan Street for a report of a domestic assault. A woman there told them a man, who was still at the scene, had threatened her with a brick, according to a police spokesman.
Officers tried to arrest the man, identified by police as Damion R. Hall, but he escaped. They obtained a warrant charging him with two counts of second-degree assault and one count each of disorderly conduct, failure to obey a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and destruction of property, according to Officer Melanie Brenner, a police spokeswoman.
Hall is described as a black man, 5-foot 10-inches tall, about 175 pounds, with short dreadlock-styled hair, Brenner said.
In the earlier incident, on Tuesday afternoon, a 29-year-old man with a name similar to Hall's was rescued on a bridge and taken to a hospital, officials said.
That man was taken to a local hospital and later released, police said.
