Hospital victim likely targeted: Police

By Dan Morse

The Suburban Hospital worker killed over the weekend at the Bethesda hospital likely was not a victim of random violence and was stabbed to death, Montgomery County Police said Monday.

"Detectives are not ruling out any possibility, but will be focusing on who might have had a reason to harm" the victim, Roosevelt Brockington Jr., 40, police said in a statement.

Preliminary autopsy results confirmed the manner of death was homicide and the cause of death was stab wounds, police said.

How many people know their way to a hospital boiler room? Either someone who works there or someone led there by the victim -- or just someone desperate the rob an individual.

I read on another webpage that the whole thing was overheard by a friend of the victim because he was on his cell phone at the time.

This is a terrible tragedy.

That's the same thing that my boyfriend speculated - the attacker probably works at the hospital. How horrible! I don't think robbery would be the motive. This is so sad.

If he was on the phone at the time then the person on the other end of phone, probably, knows who the killer is.

Darrrn...Hi, he was a relative of mine and his girlfriend was on the phone with him at the time of this. She called the police and told them to go to the boiler room. You do not just show up in the boiler room if you do not know the lay of the land. I believe he was someone who worked there. He told Pinochle to give it up and Pinocle told him please don't hurt me and gave the guy his wallet.

"Police have yet to charge anyone with Saturday's killing of Roosevelt Brockington, Jr., 40, of Lusby, Md., but authorities said the suspect also worked at the hospital."

Roosevelt was a good guy. I am so upset that someone would follow him to the boiler room to rob and murder him! That person needs to be caught!
