Short man sought in killing

Montgomery County detectives are looking for a 3-foot, 11-inch murder suspect in connection with a shooting last week in Silver Spring, officials said.

The suspect, Henry Chavez, 28, current address unknown, is known to frequent Silver Spring and Wheaton and weighs about 85 pounds, police said. Detectives have obtained a first-degree murder warrant for him in the slaying of Hamington Luis Ravanales Orozco, 27.

Police originally believed that the victim’s name was Hamilton Luis Rabanales. Just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Ravanales Orozco was with a group outside a residence in the 10100 block of Georgia Avenue just before the incident occurred.

Police urged anyone who knows where Chavez is, or knows what happened to Ravanales Orozco, to call 240-773-5070. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477), and be eligible for a possible reward.

Is either the victim or the dwarf illegal? WaPo, seems that would be a newsworthy subject don't you think?

AWWWWW, that is too cute. I feel bad for him going to prison though. They should probably just lock him up in juvenile hall where he stands a chance. Then again, he probably should not have killed somebody.

I've seen him in the clubs before. Wow, who would've thought that he could even hold a gun. But, then again it probably was a .22

This is what is wrong with MoCo's police policy in dealing with illegals. I doubt that his immigration status was checked when he was arrested for drug possession with intent to distribute in 2008. So they release him back into the community so that he can subsequently commit murder. Priceless!!

His green card is bigger than he is. I wonder if he even had to duck to slip under the border fence.

This article offers little insight into the crime thus belittling his actions.

Little.

He's easy to overlook. I think he might be hiding out in Oz.

I read this article this morning without seeing the picture. I was thinking how 3'11" Hispanics can there be out there? Then I'm driving by the SS Metro station and I see this very short Hispanic. Could have been the guy in the picture.

Please explain why the WP needs to say if the victim is illegal every time he appears to be hispanic but no other time? Do you inquire every person in every crime article legal status? No. so stop being racist. Oh, I bet you dont think making mention of the legal status of every person of latino decent is racist do you? It is, even if the person is illegal. Its called stereotyping, profiling. Kind of like if you asked if every Italian dude you read about in the paper is with the mob. The sad part is you are serious.

I think some white people think the only illegal immigrants in the united states are latinos. Which makes others stereotype white people as dumb racist. If white people dont want to be stereotyped as dumb and racist maybe some of you should stop stereotyping other people.
