Two enter idling car, police give chase

Update, 9:38 a.m.:

Two suspects who led police on a chase this morning in Montgomery County are described as 18-year-old males. They are in custody, police said.

The two entered a red 1998 Dodge Durango that had been left with its keys in the ignition and engine running in the owner's driveway, police said.

Original post:

Two suspects climbed into an idling vehicle in Rockville Wednesday morning, led police on a chase, bailed out and ran, and were captured, officials said.

No injuries were reported.

Police were first notified of the incident at 7:54 a.m. The two do not own the vehicle they drove off in, police said.

More details are expected later.

Maybe they were late for school and just wanted to use the car to get there on time.

If they had died in an accident, who would care? This is just the start of bigger things to come. Look out.

i hope who ever left their car idling is given a ticket.

MarilynManson: Why do you hope that whoever left their car idling is given a ticket? If it's because something could knock it into gear and it would hurt someone-I agree. if it's because leaving it idling made it easier for these two "men" to take it-then I'll have to disagree with your wishes. I hope that they toss these two spoiled brats in seven locks for a couple of months.

@stopthemadness -it's against the law to leave your car idling in Maryland. the owner should be given a ticket. If not for that, then being that stupid.

Being stupid is not a crime.

Yes, give out the ticket for an unattended vehicle, NOT for being stupid! Call it genetics.
