Pr. George's man killed in Rockville collision

A 62-year-old Prince George’s County man was killed Thursday night in a two-vehicle collision in Rockville, police said.
The victim, William L. Mason, of the 6800 block of Riverdale Road in Riverdale, was a passenger in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado when the pickup truck was struck by a sport utility vehicle shortly after 8 p.m. on West Montgomery Avenue, police said.
The drivers of the vehicles suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Police said the Silverado, driven by William A. Thomas Sr., 67, the of 20400 block of Beallsville Road in Dickerson, was turning left off West Montgomery at the entrance to a Best Western hotel when it was struck on the passenger side.
The other vehicle, a 1995 Ford Explorer, was driven by Carl J. Russell, 31, of the 500 block of Coral Reef Road in Gaithersburg, police said.
The circumstances of the crash were under investigation Friday, police said.
