Pedestrian killed in Fairfax County
An unidentified pedestrian died Friday night after being struck by two vehicles in Fairfax County, police said.
The victim, described as a Latino man with black hair and a mustache, in his mid-30s to early 40s, was killed shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Richmond Highway near Buckman Road in the Hybla Valley area, police said. They said the man, who had a thin build and stood about 5-foot-5, was wearing black pants, black dress shoes and a white T-shirt.
Police said the victim ran across Richmond Highway in front of traffic that was stopped in the left-turn lane, then was struck by a Chrysler minvan traveling south in the right lane, approaching Buckman Road. The van was driven by a 21-year-old woman, police said. They said the victim was then struck by a Ford pickup truck driven by a 27-year-old woman.
The incident remains under investigation.
