Boy, 16, shot dead in Hyattsville park
A teenager was fatally shot Thursday evening in a Hyattsville area park and police were reportedly searching for three suspects, Prince George’s County police said.
Officers were called to the 2600 Nicholson Street, near the Anacostia Tributary Trail, and just before 7 p.m. found a 16-year-old male wounded, said Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a county police spokesman.
The victim was taken to Washington Hospital Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Maryland National Capital Park Police and county police are investigating the incident but released no details about the circumstances of the shooting.
