Clinton man, 39, found dead in truck
A Clinton man was found dead in a truck parked on Hamlin Street Thursday, and detectives are exploring the incident as a homicide, authorities said.
Just before 4 p.m. Thursday, Prince George's County police were called to the 8700 block of Hamlin Street in the Glenarden area for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Patrol officers arrived to find a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado parked there with a man dead inside.
Police identified the victim Monday as Vernon Tyrell Cooper, 39, of Clinton. He had sustained some type of trauma to the upper body, police said.
Police said a family member had reported Cooper, who had “an extensive criminal background,” missing on Jan. 24.
Detectives are working to establish a motive and suspect in the case, police said.
