Seeking suspects in armored car heist

Prince George’s County police are looking for two people who robbed a woman as she was transporting money from a bank to an armored car in Fort Washington, authorities said Thursday.

The incident occurred just after 2 p.m. on May 21, outside the Philippine National Bank on Oxon Hill Road, police said. The woman was headed toward the armored car with a bag full of money, police said, when a woman approached her and tried to distract her by selling her perfume. While she was distracted, police said, a man approached her from behind, struck her in the head and grabbed the bag of money. Both the man and the woman who distracted the victim then ran, police said.

Police released surveillance photos of the man Thursday and asked anyone with information to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Robbery Unit at 301-772-4905.
