Police station evacuation in Md.
Normal activities resumed at the Prince George's County police's District I station Wednesday afternoon after it was evacuated while authorities cleaned up a freon leak from a heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit, fire officials said.
At about 2:15 p.m., an alarm sounded in building that houses the station at 5000 Rhode Island Avenue in Hyattsville. Firefighters arrived to find an HVAC unit had malfunctioned and released a small quantity of freon, authorities said.
Police services were temporarily relocated to another building in the county services complex, authorities said.
