Suspicious Pr. William man investigated

A 10-year-old Dumfries girl told police an unknown man in a car waved to her and a friend to come to his vehicle, an incident investigators think could be connected to a September indecent exposure case that occurred nearby.

Police said they were called to the area of Naples Lane and Pine Bluff Drive in Dumfries on Wednesday morning just before 8 a.m. A 10-year-old girl said a man in a car waved to her and a 6-year-old friend, summoning them to come closer. The man never left the car, and the girls ran away.

Police said the same man could have been responsible for a Sept. 13 indecent exposure case. In that instance, a 47-year-old woman walking her dog near the area of Naples Lane and Pleasant Lane saw a man in a maroon, older model Honda Civic expose himself. The man drove away.

In each case, the man was described as white and in his 20s, with a medium build. Police asked anyone with information on the cases to call Crime Solvers at 703-670-3700 or 1-866-TIPS.
