Cars spray-painted in Dale City
Fourteen cars in a Prince William County neighborhood were vandalized with spray paint over the weekend, county police officials said.
The vandalism took place on Hawthorn Lane in Dale City sometime between 10 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 5, according to police.
There were no words or designs spray-painted on the vehicles, Prince William Police Spokesman Jonathan Perok said, but instead just squiggles and lines. Damage estimates to the vehicles were not available, he said.
This appears to be a a random, not targeted or gang-related event, said Perok, who said when graffiti is concentrated in one area it is typically done by neighborhood children.
Police, however, are asking anyone with information to call Crime Solvers at 703-670-3700 or 1-866-411-TIPS. Callers don't need to leave a name and could earn up to a $1,000 cash reward.
