2 teens arrrested in string of holdups

Two teenagers are accused of committing three armed robberies in a 30-hour stretch early this week before being arrested in Northeast Washington.

Police said the teens, both males, one 15 and the other 16, were taken into custody Wednesday afternoon by patrol officers in the 4900 block of Brooks Street NE. Each was charged as a juvenile with robbing three stores at gunpoint, police said.

The first holdup took place about 4 p.m. Monday at the Shrimp Boat carryout at East Capitol Street and Benning Road NE. About 4 p.m. Tuesday, the Menick Market was robbed in the 4400 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue NE. The third holdup, at Tony’s Market in the 5300 block of East Capitol Street NE, occurred about 10 p.m. Tuesday.

I am shocked!!! Where are they're parents? Oh thats right, they only have one parent, I use the term "parent" very loosely. Get em while they're young..hahaha

So we have two under age teenagers robbing people at gun point. They will not serve any jail time but will be placed in one of the many 'reeducation' projects District officals are fond of.
This of course will teach them that crime has no consequenses and they will commit more crimes even before they finish supervison on the robberies.

jabreal00, can you be more specific?

Take them to Fairfax and use them for target practice, the radar queen that shot the bumper is out of practice

I am getting so tired of stories like this. I wish we could enact some sort of mandate that would allow juvenile offenders of violent crimes to automatically be enlisted into the armed services as soon as they turn 18.

Give these fools and fake thugs some discipline and let them see firsthand what real warfare is all about. See if they can translate all that "hardness" to the frontlines overseas.

6pm april 2 suggestion makes no sense. How would you like to depend on these "fools and fake thugs" in combat? Would you bet your own life on these buds?

30 days rehabilitation. More robberies as soon as they can find a gun -- maybe 5-10 days after release.

30 days "rehabilitation". More robberies as soon as they can get another gun, maybe 5-10 days. Probably a murder committed within the next year.
