Second teen arrested in D.C. killing

A second teenage boy has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of a Capitol Heights man, D.C. police said.

The victim, 29-year-old Manuel D. Sanchez, was working with a cleaning crew behind a property in the 4600 block of Hillside Road when he was shot to death following an altercation May 28, police said.

The 16-year-old, whose name was not released, was arrested at his home in District Heights on Wednesday morning.

Another 16-year-old boy, Javon Hale, of Capitol Heights, was also charged with murder in the case on June 2.

Heading says "DC," but all locations mentioned are in MD?

This is another reason why DC politicans want to keep law-abiding citizens from owning guns. What is the police doing abou the rampant abuse of illegal guns in the district? Seems like we need police on every corner in sections of DC. If NYC's murder rate can decrease, why can't DC's--and citizens of NYC can own handguns!

DC's murder rate has decreased - it was the lowest it's been since 1964 in 2009.

Capitol Heights is also a DC neighborhood near the MD line. Though, I would have said this address is more of Fort Dupont than Capitol Heights or maybe Benning Ridge.

For all the immigrant haters in and around DC and PG, cases like this one remind us that it's the natives that ought to be deported, not the undocumented victims.

To all you NRA gun nuts who would like to arm every man, women, and baby with a gun may I suggest you pack your bags and move to the Middle East. That way you Christian terrorist can fight it out with the Muslim terrorist. Everybody would be a lot safer if we could just nuke VA, since they are main source for illegal guns up and down the east coast.

Given that the homicide rate is at its lowest since 1964 do we attribute that to an improvement in the community or poorer marksmanship?
Back in the day before video games kids had to learn to shoot ACTUAL guns. Nothing is ever like the good old days...
