Salesman charged in Va. sex assault

A door-to-door salesman from North Carolina was arrested in Fairfax County on Monday on charges that he molested a teenage girl who was home alone, Fairfax police said Tuesday.
The incident happened on Plaskett Forest Lane near Route 1 and Gunston Road in the Lorton area.
Police said the salesman knocked on the door about 3:30 p.m. and said he was selling cleaning products. He then reportedly told the 14-year-old girl who lived there that he needed to use the bathroom. When he left the bathroom, he sexually assaulted her, police said.
Police officers, search dogs and a police helicopter swarmed the neighborhood, and residents provided information about a group of people selling carpet-cleaning products in the area. About 10 p.m., police stopped a vehicle with nine people inside and arrested one of them.
Tommy L. Harmon, 26, of Greensboro was charged with one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor.

A 14-year-old girl home alone lets a stranger in the house to use the bathroom?
Definitely a candidate for the Idiot Teenager of the Year Award.

Can't wait to hear his defense on this one. Makes one wonder how anyone can be a criminal defense attorney.
Explain to us all the mitigating circumstances for sexually assaulting a 14 year old Mr. Harmon...

OK, no female deserves a raping. HOWEVER, saying that......is there something mentally wrong with this girl that she allowed a total stranger into her home to use the bathroom?
Could it just be that this guy was very convincing and she was just a trusting soul?
It's a shame that this had to happen to her to let her know how some people in the world are.

It's funny everyone is pointing at the 14 year old for allowing this person into the house. She should have never unlocked the door to listen.
14 year old kids most times have so many things going on in their minds, and like many of us, never think anything like that would ever happend to them.
This child will be scarred for life.
