Brothers killed in Md. crash

Two brothers were killed when a car one of them was driving veered from the road and collided with a utility pole in Silver Spring Wednesday night, Montgomery County police said.

Idris Muhammad, 20 was driving the dark blue Nissan Sentra southbound on Layhill Road approaching Middlevale Road when the vehicle swerved over a curb and into the pole about 10:38 p.m., police said.

His brother, Khalifah Muhammad, 18, was in the front passenger seat. Both were wearing seatbelts, police said.

Two other passengers sitting in the rear of the car survived, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to call 301-840-2435.
