Deadly bus crash in Md. on I-70

By Washington Post Editors

Maryland State Police say one person is dead and three others have been taken to a hospital after a pickup truck crossed the median and hit a disabled bus along Interstate 70 in Washington County.

The westbound truck crossed the median near the exit for Big Pool and hit the bus stopped with mechanical problems around 10 a.m. Monday.

Police say the driver of the pickup truck, 69-year-old Ray S. Linebaugh of Hagerstown, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lt. Thomas Woodward says three of the 18 people on the bus were taken to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown with minor injuries
