Pedestrian killed in apparent Pr. George's hit-and-run

A pedestrian was struck and killed in an apparent hit-and-run in the Landover area early this morning, county police said.

The accident occurred about 4:15 a.m. in the unit block of Hampton Park Boulevard, a police spokesman said.

The identity of the pedestrian, an adult male, was not immediately available, the spokesman said.

The incident was under investigation, said police, who said the accident was called in by a tractor-trailer driver.

No description of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian was immediately available.
