Woman hurt in Md. hit-and-run
A 24-year-old woman was in serious condition Sunday after she was struck by a car in a hit-and-run crash in the Piney Branch area of Silver Spring the night before, authorities said.
The woman was walking in the northbound portion of the 8700 block of Carroll Avenue just after 8 p.m. Saturday when she was struck by a small dark-colored passenger vehicle, possibly a Honda, police said. The car did not stop.
Police said the vehicle lost its right-side exterior mirror during the crash and might have other damage on the right side.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Montgomery County police Collision Reconstruction Unit at 301-840-2435.
