New search for man killed in 1969

Investigators from New York plan to return to Virginia to search for the body of a man killed in 1969.

New York authorities believe 22-year-old Dave Bacon was buried near the James River, but an earlier attempt to locate his grave was unsuccessful.

Investigators say they’re coming back this week and will have help from 63-year-old Nelson Costello, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the case.

Police say Bacon was killed in New York and Costello put his body in the trunk of a car and drove to Lynchburg. They suspect Bacon was buried in Bedford County.
