Arrest in May killing in District
District police have charged a Lanham man with murder in the May 16 shooting death of a 28-year-old Clinton man.
Authorities said Darnell Leon Hawkins was arrested Wednesday morning in Northeast Washington by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Hawkins was charged with first-degree murder while armed in the slaying of Dawan Anthony Felder.
Early the morning of May 16, officers investigating a report of gunshots in the 5000 block of D Street Southeast found Felder lying on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
