Md. murderer disputes killings
A woman serving life in prison for murder says she won't contest a divorce from her husband, but she disputes his reason for the divorce -- that she killed someone.
Erika Sifrit wrote in a court filing, "I do not contest this divorce. However I do contest ... Benjamin Sifrit states that I killed two people. This is a lie because I did not kill two people. I have never killed anyone."
The filing was obtained by WTOP-FM.
Benjamin Sifrit, who has also been convicted of murder, filed for divorce in March, in part because “Erika Sifrit is a convicted felon.”
Erika Sifrit was sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years after being convicted in 2003 of murdering a pair of Ocean City tourists.
Benjamin Sifrit was sentenced to 38 years for second-degree murder.
