Pedestrian killed in Tuesday crash had been drinking, police say
The man struck and killed after he walked onto Watkins Park Drive in the Kettering area Tuesday night is suspected to have been drinking before the crash, authorities said.
Lloyd Williams, 55, of Upper Marlboro, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 8:40 p.m. near the intersection of Watkins Park Drive and Chesterton Drive, police said.
Cpl. Mike Rodriguez, a Prince George's County police spokesman, said investigators recovered evidence that he had been drinking.
Williams apparently walked onto Watkins Park Drive and was struck by a Mitsubishi Galant traveling west, Rodriguez said.
The driver of the Galant attempted to stop but was unable to, Rodriguez said.
