Photo of baby found near church released
Police have released a photo of the baby found outside the Saint Raymond of Penafort Catholic Church on Sunday.
The baby was found in a hot pink bag, a photo of which was also released Monday by the Fairfax County Police Department.

The newborn girl was left in the parking lot of the Springfield Catholic church just before Mass on Sunday. Police are still trying to find the mother.

You people are monsters. I can't believe you would speculate about a child's immigration status when there are more serious issues involved like child abandonment.

Mariposa: don't take these anonymous racists seriously.
Obviously it is wrong to abandon a child, but at least she/he left it at a church, rather than in a trashcan (dead).
PS: the article says cops are looking for the mother. Not the father?

What I see hear is someone who is afraid and confused to something like that. Thank god they left the baby someone at Springfield Catholic church besides the trash dumpster. I believe that it's either a young girl or an immigrant or my someone who is afraid to care for a child or can't afford to care for another child or maybe have a dysfunctional family and felt like that was the best place for someone to find it.So we don't know so don't judge the women if anything find a way to help this newborn.
