Capital murder charge for Va. Beach man

By The Virginian-Pilot

A Virginia Beach sailor accused of killing his neighbor has been indicted on a capital murder charge, making him eligible for the death penalty.

Robert Lee Sadler was charged in January with first-degree murder in the death of Shana Hight.

Virginia Beach Commonwealth's Attorney Harvey Bryant tells The Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk that a grand jury indicted the 22-year-old Sadler earlier this month.

Sadler is charged with capital murder in the commission of an abduction and capital murder in the commission of a sexual assault.

Hight was found dead in her apartment in September. Her husband was deployed with the Navy at the time of her killing.

Sadler lived two floors above Hight.
