Guilty plea in Va. teacher sex case

By The Roanoke Times

A former Christiansburg (Va.) High School teacher has been convicted of eight misdemeanor charges stemming from a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.

The Roanoke Times reports that Diana Canter pleaded guilty Wednesday to contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

She originally was charged with taking indecent liberties, a felony, but the charges were reduced.

The former English teacher pleaded no contest. She was sentenced to a year in jail on each of the eight counts, with all time suspended.

She will serve two years of probation and must perform 200 hours of community service.

Interesting. When it's a woman who is the perpetrator she gets all the jail time suspended and has to do community service. When it's a male, there are calls for castration and life imprisonment.
.
Justice is not blind. Not here.

What B-rod said, in triplicate. Why is she any less guilty? And I'm a female and I'm saying that.

Well B-rod, Justsaying1945 it’s because men have kuddies. Your right it does set a double standard, however I am sure the judged looked at this from many angles and he must have taken into consideration her remorse, how long the abuse was or if she had a pattern of sexual abuse. I am sure there were many factors here and if not then I was right it’s because men have kuddies.
